Is usually, cultivated in all tropical, subtropical countries and warm locales with a moderate climate. Fruit contains a juicy red or yellow pulp, but it happens also white, pink or orange. There are many seeds in a pulp. The pulp contains more than 90 % of water and is a source of moisture in dry locales, 7 % of sugar, some quantity of carotene and vitamin C.
